  • Mark 7: Jesus, the Syro-Phonecian Woman and the 3 Little Pigs.

I’ve heard whispers, recently, amongst the brethren. Revival talk. People-are-coming talk. It’s always beautiful when people anywhere are connecting with the Lover, and finding they are loved and liberated. Always. But.

There’s a lot going on in the world right now. I guess there always is. It’s heart-breaking and confusing and soul-crushing. We can sit in the sorrow with the Man of Sorrows and lament, deeply. While we (in the UK) also deeply appreciate the tulips beginning to scatter their joy across grassy places, and the sun wink and say hi for more than a luke-warm minute.

And we all respond differently to the times we find ourselves in, as the Spirit leads, and as we are designed. I’m just never sure the Lord of the Dance leads us inside our buildings to party while the world burns. The Spirit and the Bridegroom are dancing their invitation everywhere, and as the heat and pain levels turns up, the anaesthetic works less, and we pay more attention. All of us. So let’s keep on celebrating their wild and beautiful generosity and the still surprising scandal that we’re invited to the dance too. Let’s be brave as He dismantles our favourite hiding places, exclusion zones and limitations. Starting with me.
